 Minister’s Welcome

Good morning and thank you for being here this morning. As Christians we talk a lot about it, about the verse that promises God’s grace anew every morning; “22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”Lamentations 3:22-23 BUT does it feel that way? Or, did you wake up with the weight of yesterday on your shoulders?... How about the burden of tomorrow? In the same spirit as the verse above, Jesus teaches us to “… not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”Matthew 6:34 BASICALLY, Jesus, God Himself is giving us a secret for a healthy life for it is unhealthy to let the weight of the past drag you down and the burden of the future rob you of TODAY. We are to live in today, in the NOW, for that is the only way to be fully aware of God, of His presence and reap the benefits of His peace. So let it all go and now BE HERE,…FULLY,…WHOLLY,…PURPOSEFULLY!

This Wednesday – October 17th – Family Time & Small Group

Persecuted for their faith – Asia Bibi

Convicted of blasphemy by a Pakistani court, she received a sentence of death by hanging in 2010. The verdict, which was reached in a district court and would need to be upheld by a superior court, has received worldwide attention. Various petitions, including one that received 400,000 signatures, were organized to protest Asia's imprisonment, and Pope Benedict XVI publicly called for the charges against her to be dismissed. She received less sympathy from her neighbors and Islamic religious leaders in the country, some of whom adamantly called for her to be executed. Christian minorities minister Shahbaz Bhatti and Muslim politician Salmaan Taseer were both assassinated for advocating on her behalf and opposing the blasphemy laws. Asia's family went into hiding after receiving death threats, some of which threatened to kill Asia if released from prison. (to be continued)
