Minister’s Corner

Good morning and welcome to today’s worship gathering. We are slowly but surely edging toward Spring and I am excitedly expecting to be rid of the cold and see the first buds signaling revival.

As we continue seeking after Jesus during this 1^st quarter of 2020 I am excited to share with you the decision of one of our own numbers to follow after Jesus in baptism. Jeremy Parent put on Christ in baptism on February 14^th in the witness and joy of his family. Although I’ve been calling him brother for a while now, I am delighted to welcome him to the kingdom and to his rightful place in God’s family.

As his faith family, it falls on us to commit to support him with daily prayers as he journeys onward. Like Jesus after His baptism, Jeremy will face the enemy and I ask of all you to commit to at least pray daily for Jeremy, Shana and the family for the next 40 days.

I pray that God blesses us today as we gather around one another to sing, pray, learn and praise and that our hearts will be filled with His love and our minds with His Spirit to His Glory! Amen!

This Wednesday – February 19^th – Family Time & Small Group

This Wednesday grab some take out and join us at the church building for our Family Time. This is a weekly dinner we eat together, as a family, talking about life, faith, news and everything in between. For those of us who are meeting weekly it has become a highlight and I always look forward to Wednesday dinner with my faith family.

From 7:00 PM we will continue to study / discuss as a small group on the subject of prayer. I will send out materials via email on Monday.

February Family Movie Night – 28^th from 7:00 PM

Please note date change - In February we will watch the movie I Believe - 9-year-old Brian's (Rowan Smyth) pure and innocent faith brings about manifestations of God's extraordinary power that quickly become breaking news. He faces heavy opposition from the world around him, especially from his own father Simon (Matt Lindquist), an atheist TV Newscaster. Brian finds allies in the pastor of a local church (Wilford Brimley) and a wounded U.S. Marine (Jeremy London). Link to Trailer is on the Church Calendar online.

Giveaway – DATE CHANGE to March 28^th

Please note that due to a change in Shana’s schedule at work and based of your responses to the email I sent out, the date for the Giveaway has changed to March 28^th. Please make this adjustment on your calendars and prepare your donations. Also, please spread the word.

Bridal Shower

Ladies from the Troy church family along with other family and friends of Jessica Van Horn are invited to a bridal shower in her honor. The shower will be here in our fellowship hall on Saturday, March 14th at 11:30. Luncheon will be served.

Jessica is the daughter of Jan Haefner. She grew up in the Troy church and is loved by current and former Troy members. We are always happy to see her when she returns for a visit.

Please join us as we celebrate with Jessica her upcoming marriage to Chris Fisher. Please RSVP to Nancy Schroeder (248  652-3676) by March 8th.
