Minister’s Welcome
Good morning Church and Guests! I thank God for each of you and the opportunity to be together and encourage one another in Christ.
This has been a taxing week for many of you as South Oakland Shelters took residence transforming our church building into a shelter for those who find themselves without a home. Thank you for the endless hours of cooking, cleaning, providing and serving the 30+ souls that spend the week here. I am so blessed to be a part of a group like you and I know that Jesus is pleased with the way you’ve blessed His people. Let’s rejoice now in singing and prayer, in the fellowship of the Spirit for the love and freedom we have in Christ.
This Wednesday – July 19th – Family Time and Peak of the Week
Last Wednesday Jeremy, Jim and Don (Jeremy’s Friend) as well as Diane, Mary Clary and other ladies treated our guests and us to an amazing fish fry dinner. Although this Wednesday we won’t be able to match that, please come at 6PM, and bring your favorite take out, and spend the hour with us, catching up on life. This is our weekly family dinner.
Peak of the Week – Please stay after dinner and worship with us for an hour of songs, music, scripture and inspirational stories of faith
VBS
The dates for our VBS are August 7th through 11th and I hope you are making plans to be a part of it, no matter how small a part. The theme is that of pioneers trailblazing and settling the West. We are trying to gather all items that could help our decors; western country clothing, hats, wagon wheels, fake plants, fake rocks, antique pots, anything that would help us transform our auditorium into a pioneer’s camp. Check out - http://troychurch.net/trailblazers-vbs
SOS
Thank you again to all the volunteers who have helped host our SOS guests this week. I could have not asked for more and the people of SOS have felt loved, cared for and have seen this week as a highlight of their experience in SOS.
Thank you; Keith, Charles, Ellie, Foy, Gene, Leslie, Christian, Isabella, Giulianna and Atticus for helping put the church building back together this morning!
Thank you; Lisa, Beth, Diane, Gary for doing a mountain of laundry this morning.
>Cleaning of the Building
I want to thank the Fred Oja Family for their long time, faithful service to this congregation in the cleaning of the building. We will miss them around here when they move to join Todd and the family.
We are in need of weekly cleaning services for the building and most likely we will be looking for a professional cleaning service, however, until we find one, we may need some help. Please let the AFC or Manu know if you are willing to help with this.
