Minister’s Corner

Good morning and welcome to the worship services of the Troy Church on this Lord’s Day. As we gather today, I pray that you are here to worship, to lay your burdens down, to abandon yourself to the love of Christ and be filled with His Spirit. Your week is now behind you and a new week is starting. A new blessing from God that we start anew today. A new day to forgive ourselves and others who have harmed us during this past week. A new day to let God’s grace cover us and flow through us to those around us.

Today we start our new series on Obedience, an aspect of Christianity not as appreciated as that of Grace but nevertheless an aspect of our relationship with Christ that is essential, and Lord directed. Christ, our Lord, is characterized by two defining characteristics; His unconditional love for those around Him and for His unwavering obedience to the Father, obedience  He ultimately charged His Apostles with teaching to the Church, to you and I, those who call Jesus Lord. Thank you for being here today!

This Wednesday – May 22^nd – Tomes& Parents Cooking & Bible Reading Study

Please join us from 6 PM on Wednesday for a fish fry. This is the last time for the Tomes & Parents to cook for us as they break for summer. $5 a person, $15 family with children, guests eat free.

From 7:00 PM we will continue our Bible Reading & Study time. This is a time when we circle around and read through a Book of the Bible, a chapter at a time and have a quick study and discussion, much the same as you would have in a small group setting or your own family devotionals at home.

2^nd God, Guys & Guns Men’s Retreat – July 19^th – 21^st, 2019.

Sign-up sheet is out in the lobby. Please take a minute today and sign up so we can figure out how many guys will be coming. We have a great program being prepared for our time together that I am positive will benefit every single one of you. Please take the time to consider attending and sign up today.

Family Movie Night @ Troy – 31^st of May from 7:00 PM

This month our Family Movie Night will take place on 31^st and as always popcorn will be provided. This month we will watch one of the following movies:  Forever My Girl, Like Arrows, The Hiding Place, Lilies of the Field, The Other Side of Heaven, The Inn of the Sixth Happiness. You have ONE WEEK to research

These movies and tell me which one your choice is to see. Please put your choices in the suggestion box by the front doors. Most votes win – only one vote per person allowed :-)

This Wednesday – Tomes & Parents Dinner – Fish Fry

This month we will have the last of the wonderful dinners the Tomes and the Parents have been loving us with. They will take a break over the summer. Their cooking night will be this Wednesday, May 22^nd and we will have a fish fry.

Ukraine VBS bake sale fundraiser – June 9^th

We are planning to sell yummy goodies on Sunday, June 9th after the services to buy and mail VBS supplies for Ternopil Church VBS themed Fruits of the Spirit. Please, support us in this endeavor! If you want to bring baked items, that would be great also! Thank you for your ongoing generosity!
