Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Blessings to you on this last Sunday of September. We are quickly approaching the long dreaded, at least by me, Michigan winter and I have to confess that one of the things that keeps me going and remaining positive in the face of these next six months of “blah” is the thought of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year holidays. Whoever did that was pretty clever. Christmas in the middle of summer, as in Brazil, is nothing like Christmas. Not even close! And I am not talking about Santa, or presents and such, I am talking about the Advent Season, the significance of celebrating our Lord’s birth. Not the same.

Most people look with favor and expectancy to the weekend as soon as Monday rolls around, but for us Christians, it has a special meaning because of Sunday morning. I look forward to being with you and I thank you for blessing me with your fellowship as we praise and glorify our God; Father, Son and holy Spirit this morning.

This Wednesday – September 29th – Family Time & Bible Study

On Wednesday, we will meet in person for our Family Time at 6:00PM for those of you who want to bring their meal and eat it in the company of other brothers and sisters. This is our weekly fellowship meal.

From 7PM, we will continue the new study on the subject of suffering lead by Caleb Simmons. Please join us in person and on Zoom for this insightful study.

Leadership nominations – T-35

A couple of weeks ago I sent out a note regarding nominations for the future leaders of the Troy Congregation. October 31st is a Sunday this year and that is the Sunday we would like for you to turn in your nominations that you have, and will be, prayerfully thinking about. I cannot believe we are about to step in October so these 35 days will pass fast. This 4th Quarter of 2021 holds a lot of decisions for us as a congregation regarding leadership and living the 2022 year in the purpose of our Lord. This is an exciting time as well as we expectantly look to the Lord for direction and blessings. Thank you in advance for your diligence and partnership in the Spirit as we seek His guidance, living in His purpose.
