Minister’s Corner

Good morning to you on this last Sunday of April, with Spring in full swing and nature coming into full bloom. Only a week ago we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord. In preparation for that we’ve been looking at our Lord as our King, our Judge and ultimately as our Savior, and this past Wednesday we talked about the necessity of Jesus and the Holy Spirit in our every day lives and worship. We saw that without Jesus and the Holy Spirit interceding for us to the Father our relationship with Him would be impossible.

This morning we will talk about our Lord as our Shepherd and learn to what has He invited us to know about our relationship with Him when informing us that He is “the Good Shepherd” (John 10:11) .

Thank you for being here this morning. Your presence here is an encouragement for your brothers and sisters, and an act that brings glory to God. If you are visiting with us this morning, we thank you for choosing this place to worship and we pray that in our midst you will find the love and encouragement that comes only from God and that together with us you will give Him praise.

This Wednesday – May 1st – Family Time & Prayer Hour

Please join us from 6PM on Wednesday for what we call, our Family Time. This is a time of coming together with our own take out or home cooked dinner. We spend an hour together visiting and talking about life as we enjoy our meal.

From 7:00 PM as it is our first Wednesday of the month, we will spend an hour in prayer together. This is a practice coming to us over the distance of 21 centuries of discipleship practice among the followers of Jesus. Also, the next day, on Thursday is the National Day of Prayer.

Troy Church Clean-Up – May 4th, 2019

This Saturday, from 9:00 AM please join us at the church building as we will work to clean up around the building, improve the look of our flower beds, etc. Please come and help us be good neighbors to our community.

If we will have a good amount of people, it would be great for the younger crowed to walk the neighborhood and clean some of the trash as well.

Appreciation Dinner – TODAY

Today, April 28th after our morning service, we will have a potluck dinner and a time to honor, thank and wish Fred, Barb and Kay, well in this new phase of their lives. Anyone wishing to help in the planning or needs additional information contact Nancy Schroeder or Lisa Jones. Please include this event in your schedule and join us in showing love and appreciation for these dear friends who will be greatly missed.

Asia Bibi News Update

Asia Bibi, the mother of five who spent almost a decade on death row for a crime she did not commit, is reported to be in dire physical condition as she continues to be held in a safe house in the Pakistani city of Karachi. Bibi, 53, was acquitted of blasphemy last October after the Supreme Court ruled that the accusations had no evidential basis. Since then, Bibi has been granted asylum in Canada, but as yet has not been released from her home country. Please continue to pray!
