Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Good morning and thank you for your plan to be and worship with us this morning. Even though a little hot, it is a beautiful day, unlike this day in 1882 when snow fell on Lake Michigan. Brrr…!!!

We continue to talk this morning about loving Jesus, about why Jesus is even worth loving before passing on to how we love, or should love, Jesus. I pray you will be blessed this morning by being together and God will grant you the answers and blessings you seek. If you are a guest in our midst today, please give us a chance to meet you and answer any questions you may have about any of our worship practices.

May our God and Father grant you mercy and grace in abundance and may your faith be strengthened through the understanding of the depth of His love for you.

This Wednesday – August 11^th –Family Time & Bible Study

On Wednesday, from 6PM bring your takeout over to the Church Building for our Family Time. Several of our number get together and have dinner together before our 7 o’clock Bible Study.

From 7PM, in person and via Zoom, we will continue our journey through the book Genesis – God, Creation and Destruction by Dennis Prager.

The Voice of the Martyrs’ Imprisoned for Christ Virtual Event is available on demand, allowing you to watch it whenever it’s convenient for you. You will be inspired by the testimonies of three men who were arrested, interrogated, and imprisoned for their faith in Christ:

2T4C (Troy Teens For Christ)

We will make a renewed effort to meet on Saturday evening from about 6PM. It may not work out every week but hopefully it will be more regular. Put August 14^th – 6:00PM on your schedules.

Covid

If you’ve been watching the news, you know that we are up to variant Lambda I believe and apparently Delta is doing some serious harm. In this week’s Newsweek a Pastor from Florida was saying that “In the last 10 days, we have had six members of our church who passed away from COVID. Four of them were under the age of 35. All of them were healthy, and the only thing they had in common was they were not vaccinated.” I urge you therefore to take personal responsibility in your protection against covid when attending church services. Even though we are not planning any events or church outreach due to this uncertainty, in person meetings do have a high exposure risk.
