Minister’s Corner

Thank you for being here this morning. I pray it is a good morning, and as the spirit of Christmas overtakes you, there is a perpetual joy in your heart. During this time of the year I find myself often humming carols and my spirit does feel renewed and joyful without much trying.

Today we light the second candle of Advent, which for us represents HOPE. Naturally, the theme of our service today is HOPE. It is said, and I believe it, that life loses all its value when it loses hope. No matter how hard the conditions you must endure, as long as there is hope you will keep fighting. Perhaps that is why in Hebrews 11:1 we are told that “11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” because, in reality, it is faith that keeps us alive. Faith makes our HOPE real and as we talked about FAITH as our first Advent Candle last Sunday, now we give thanks to our Father and God for our HOPE through our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Messiah.

May your week ahead be crowned with FAITH & HOPE and may the joy of Christmas continue to light and warm your path ahead. AMEN!

This Wednesday – December 11^th – Family Time & Chosen Movie

This Wednesday from 6PM come and join us for dinner. A few of us bring our own dinner and eat it together with each other as a Family Dinner of sorts, talking about life, faith and whatever topic springs up. Bring your own take out dinner and share this time with us.

From 7PM we will continue to watch the Christian TV series Chosen which tries to fill in some of the blanks in the Bible with creativity and yet tries to stay true to the Biblical meaning.

Special Contribution for Staff/Missionaries - Today

For many years, we have had a special offering at this time of year to thank those that serve all year.  This year, the contribution will be taken up on Sunday, Dec. 8, Today.

Please plan for this special offering.

Potluck – December Birthdays & Anniversaries & Family Movie Night

In December we will have the Family Movie night on the same evening as the Potluck and December Birthdays & Anniversaries celebrations. We will first meet for the Potluck at 6PM on the 18^th and then we will watch a movie.

The movie for December will be a Christmas themed movie called The Christmas Candle.

Church Questionnaire

I continue to pray that you sincerely dedicate yourself to the process of filling out the questionnaire I handed out two Sundays ago as we strive to serve God with purpose. Papers are due back January 5^th, 2020. Please, consider your immediate answers and then ask yourselves WHY? and HOW? again. As you do this you will go from the general to the more specific, and as you peel every layer, get to the core of things. Those are the answers I am after. Thank you.
