Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

We are entering the Thanksgiving Holiday week today and I am so grateful for you, for every one of you, for the family we have at the Troy Church of Christ. I will miss being with you all in person today, as our worship service is only on Zoom today, but I am nevertheless grateful that I get to see you all. I actually think it is a bit of a blessing in disguise because on our regular meeting Sundays I don’t really get to see those of you who only join us on Zoom. It is days like this, when we all meet on Zoom that I get to look around and see those of you we all miss so much. I am grateful for Zoom and for being able to facilitate a way for all of us to meet. Imagine how our life would have been if this pandemic would have struck before the internet and zoom. I have no idea how the 1918 churches did during those couple of years of the Spanish Flu Pandemic, not being able to meet and worship together. However, this pandemic is, we have it better than they did so this is one more reason to be grateful for. Thank you for your faithfulness and perseverance! May God richly bless our worship this day.

This Wednesday – November 24th – Family Time & Bible Study

On Wednesday, we will meet in person for our Family Time at 6:00PM for those of you who want to bring their meal and eat it in the company of other brothers and sisters. This is our weekly fellowship meal.

From 7PM, we will continue the new study on the subject of suffering lead by Caleb Simmons. Please join us in person and on Zoom for this insightful study.

Anniversaries this week: Gary & Diane Flatt (21st); Shepherd Appolson (23rd); Dale & Nancy Ahern (24th)

Birthdays this week: Don Haefner (24th); Shana Parent (26th)

Leadership nominations

As per the unanimous agreement from last Sunday, we have postponed the installment of our new Shepherds until December.

Many of you have submitted nominations for Deacons as well and once our new Shepherds are ordained before God to the leadership of our congregation, we will address the Deacon nominations as well.

Offering

This morning you can make your offering online at https://troychurch.net/give

Or, by sending a check to Lisa Jones. Thank you.

Christmas Candlelight Service

December is upon us and with it the Advent Season and my favorite, Christmas Holiday. Christmas Eve is a Friday evening this year and I am trying to think of our Candlelight Service this year. If it is to count by our Sunday attendance, we will probably have a very small showing and if so I would like to plan something different. Would you help me out by letting me know who is planning to attend in person? Thank you in advance!

We bring our requests to you O Lord:

For those who have suffered loss: Lora Price, Nancy Schroeder, Mary Alice Cowie, Alanda Slusser, Dennis Setter, Karl Randall; Wright Family

For those healing: Fred Oja, Barb Oja, Lauren Birdwell, Linda Palmer, Roxy Morrice, Kerrie Birdwell, Dorel Burtoiu (Manu’s Uncle), Margie Zurlinden, Diane Flatt, Fran Birdwell, Joanna Diehl, Kathy Vickers, Brad Imhoff
