Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Here we are, once again at another month’s end, world still turned upside down by this pandemic, one month closer to elections that promise to be at least as memorable as four years ago, and daily bombarded by conflicting messages based on the interest of whatever camp speaks. I don’t know about you but this seems most definitely like the perfect time to read the Book of Isaiah as well as to talk about the voice of God and about learning to distinguished it from the noise. As we’ve seen last Sunday, God often times speaks in a whisper, intent on our leaning in, our focusing intently on Him in order to distinguish the message. No, I am not talking about another revelation of Jesus Christ. The cannon of the Bible is ALL SET as far as I am concerned but we serve a living God, a resurrected Savior who promises to be with us to the very end of the age. How does He do it?

This Wednesday – September 23rd – Family Time & Bible Study

This Wednesday I invite those of you who are willing to come join us at the building from 6:00 PM for our Family Time dinner. Bring your takeout or brown bag at the building and have it together with us.

From 7:00 PM we will continue our study of the Book of Isaiah corresponding with our collective Bible reading.

Bible Reading – Tuesday & Friday – 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM

On Tuesday we will read Isaiah 59, 60 & 61 and on Friday, Isaiah 62, 63 & 64.

From MCYC

We hope and pray that everyone is doing well today and staying safe.

This year we have been impacted greatly by COVID and are in need of your help.  We are in need of folks to come out to camp and help us do some fall maintenance and keep things looking great. Several small projects are: Trim Trails; Trim up dead branches on pine trees for new activity areas;  Split wood; Rake or blow leaves as they begin to fall; Create pad sites for picnic tables

October 3, 4, 10, 11, 31 are days we are setting aside to complete the work.  Also, weekdays are available should that be more convenient.

November 1, 7, 8, 14, and 15.  Again, weekdays are good as well.

Call us at 810-664-8040 or email at kevin@mcyc.org and set up a day and time frame that works for you and your group!!
