Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Happy Memorial Day weekend to you! I hope you’ve woken up to a wonderful morning and are looking forward to our worship service this morning. Service, which is in part a memorial celebration of our Lord’s courageous and loving act of sacrifice to give us a hope that cannot be taken away by any means. How tremendous or rather, how insane is it that nothing can separate us from the love of God BUT our own free will and yet, according to Jesus, greater is the number of those who choose to go to destruction than those who choose to walk into life? The essence of the request made to us by God is to love Him and love our neighbor and this is what Memorial Day is about, the celebration of the love of country and fellow men of those who gave their lives for us to live free. Let us remember and let us carefully ponder the state of our union, one nation, under God, for which so many shed their blood. Let us honor their sacrifice as we honor His sacrifice today.

This Wednesday – June 3^rd –Family Time & Bible Study

On Wednesday, from 6PM bring your takeout over to the Church Building for our Family Time. Several of our number get together and have dinner together before our 7 o’clock Bible Study.

From 7PM, in person and via Zoom, Charles will guide us through the book Genesis – God, Creation and Destruction by Dennis Prager. Once again we had a really good discussion on Wednesday this past week and I look forward to more like it.

Bi-Weekly Bible Reading Group –

Please join us for our bi-weekly Bible Reading. This week it takes place, as usual, on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30PM to 8:00PM. We are currently reading the book of Deuteronomy.

Wang Yi – Prisoner Update – Now held for 902 days

Pastor Wang Yi is the influential leader of Early Rain Covenant Church in the city of Chengdu, Sichuan province - one of the best-known house churches in China. After being detained for one year after his arrest in December of 2018 for “inciting subversion of state power” and “illegal business operations.” for managing the church congregation, he was sentenced in January of this year to 9 years in a secret trial without any public access.

March 25^th, 2020 a picture of the Pastor was smuggled anonymously to a member of the congregation.
