Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Kαλό μήνα (Kalo Mina) A Good Month! To you and to your loved ones, especially, in this month of Advent when we prepare our hearts and minds for the Lord. This is indeed a fortunate time for us as we get the chance to realign ourselves, our faith, with the Lord and gather strength for another year to come, if the Lord does not arrive in glory before the year is up.

Today we will be lighting, together with the 1st candle of HOPE, a second candle, of LOVE. It is only appropriate for our HOPE rests indeed on God’s LOVE for us. The HOPE we have is able to exist because we know that God LOVES us, because we know that in His love He will once again provide His Son as the salvation for us all. Looking at the innocent babe in the manger as represented in displays around town, we can’t help but feel comforted of the assurance that God’s LOVE will overcome all things. My prayer is that not only now, surrounded by the Christmas miracle will we be willing to put our trust in Him, but all year round, no matter how rough it gets.

This Wednesday – December 7th– Family Time & Bible Study

On Wednesday, we will meet in person for our Family Time at 6:00PM for those of you who want to bring their meal and eat it in the company of other brothers and sisters. This is our weekly fellowship meal.

From 7PM, we will continue the new study on the subject of suffering lead by Caleb Simmons. Please join us in person and on Zoom for this insightful study.

Birthdays this week: Jeremy Parent (5th);

2022

It is time to think of our 2022 calendar and start planning. As many of you are still only joining us virtually, I am still working on uploading the calendar file to my Google Drive and provide you with a link so you can check and add/make changes to birthdays, anniversaries, events, etc. I would also like your help to add to the calendar the dates we’ve lost those of our faith family at Troy so we can honor their memory and be able to provide an embrace to those left behind. Thank you in advance!

Offering

This morning you can make your offering online at https://troychurch.net/give

Or, by sending a check to Lisa Jones. Thank you.

Christmas Candlelight Service

December is upon us and with it the Advent Season and my favorite, Christmas Holiday. Based on the feedback I received so far it doesn’t seem like anyone besides the currently in-person attending members are planning on being here on Christmas Eve. Charles & Maureen will be preparing some food and we will be spending the evening after the service at the church building together listening to carols and celebrating. Please RSVP.

We bring our requests to you O Lord:
