Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Kαλό μήνα (Kalo Mina), A good month to you! Here we are in the last month of 2020. Thank you for being with us today as we continue our observance of the  Advent traditions and as we celebrate the marvelous Grace as displayed by God in the gift of His Son and our Savior, Jesus, the Christ, for “12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) AMEN!

May these words and our gathering today add to your FAITH in this claim, in the confidence we have through His gift of new life now and in the everlasting life to come. Let not your hearts be troubled our Savior told us as recorded in John 14, we are to believe in Him and know that no matter how unsettling the situations and circumstances of this world may get, if we remain FAITHFUL we shall overcome the world. Let us open our hearts and minds as we get together, let us push distractions away and let us be filled with His LOVE & Spirit!

This Wednesday – December 9^th – Family Time & Bible Study

Wednesday I invite those of you who are willing to come join us at the building from 6:00 PM for our Family Time dinner. Bring your takeout or brown bag at the building and have it together with us.

From 7:00 PM we will continue our reading of The Rational Bible: Genesis by Dennis Prager.

Bible Reading

I invite you to join us in the journey of reading the entire Bible chronologically following the Chronological NIV Study Bible. We will be finishing the book of Genesis this week and I couldn’t be prouder of our little Bible Reading group faithfully reading Scripture together every week. We read on Tuesday and Friday evenings from 7:30 PM to 8:00PM and we’ve gone through Revelation, Isaiah and Genesis together plus all the Gospels stories of Jesus’ last week of life on earth.

Offering

Don’t forget, for your convenience and safety you can still make your offering on line at http://ww.troychurch.net/give

We will not pass an offering tray/plate around. If you want to make your offering via cash or check please place it in the offering tray/plate as you exit the auditorium. Thank you.

Christmas Eve Service – December 24^th from 4:30PM

We will have a Christmas Eve Service as usual at 4:30PM on Christmas Eve. It will be a candlelight service, as in the past, with few added safety measures against Covid spread in the hope that we will have more of those we’ve not been able to see throughout this strange year attend. Attendance is by registration only. Please visit www.troychurch.net and follow the link on the front page circular for more information on the Candlelight Service.

As there is no 100% proof safety method, we will still videocast the service on Zoom for those who are not able to attend.

Children’s Party – December 13th after morning services

For those of you with kiddos who feel comfortable getting together for a little end of year party. Lora Price is building a piñata and we will probably order out some sandwich trays from GrinderZ. For those with Gluten Free dietary requirements we will order some Gluten Free pizza from Hungry Howie’s.
