Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Thank you for choosing to worship with us today. I pray that the Holy Spirit will touch you with peace, strength, and comfort. It is time for us to allow Him to work on us, to work in us and that is only possible if we open ourselves up to His work. I know that we say that often and yet it is so difficult do. We believe we are open to the Spirit and yet allow most petty things to interfere with our ability to focus on Him. We gather to sing to Him and yet I often catch myself singing differently than I know I would sing if indeed I would be singing in front of Him and for Him. It is difficult and I am sure that, like me, most of us do a better job of it when we are alone, in our intimate time of fellowship with Him. Nevertheless, we are called to worship together as well and worship in a way that encourages one another to a greater fellowship with one another and with God, to a greater devotion to the body of Christ and to our Lord! My prayer is that today, we all will get a step closer to that ideal. Thank you!

This Wednesday – November 10th – Family Time & Bible Study

On Wednesday, we will meet in person for our Family Time at 6:00PM for those of you who want to bring their meal and eat it in the company of other brothers and sisters. This is our weekly fellowship meal.

From 7PM, we will continue the new study on the subject of suffering lead by Caleb Simmons. Please join us in person and on Zoom for this insightful study.

Leadership nominations

Thank you for your prayerful submissions. We received 100% responses with 94% making a nomination and 6% abstaining. As mentioned in my email, appointing shepherds is more about recognizing those already fulfilling that ministry rather than expecting someone to fulfill this ministry after they are appointed. As such, although we received nominations for 12 of our brothers (amazing!!! Thank you!!!) only those receiving at least 50% of the members nominations will be considered for installment. Two of our brothers were recognized by the majority of our membership as doing already the work of a shepherd, one with 59% and the other with 69% of nominations. The 3rd per percentage of nominations was 37%. The next step is a face-to-face meeting with these two brothers to inform them and give them a chance to consider this ministry and accept or refuse
