Minister’s Corner
Good morning and Happy 1st Sunday of Lent to you. This past Wednesday a good number of the Christian community celebrated Ash Wednesday. To some, it reminded that we rise from ashes because of our Savior. To others it brought closer to the front of their mind the tragedy of our Savior’s suffering. Whichever camp you find yourself in, during Lent, many of us give up something. We train ourselves to go, to do without something, so that every time we miss whatever we’ve given up our minds will focus on Christ, on His suffering and His love for us, on the victory He has brought us through His suffering, sacrifice and victory in resurrection. No matter what you gave up, it’s a good idea to give up something, something you really like or enjoy, something that makes you “happy.” It is only for a season, but it will open your mind to a spiritual influence of the Spirit that will bring you peace and a deeper appreciation of our Lord and Savior.
I am happy to be here with you all today, once again gathered in His mercy to give Him our love in songs and prayers or as we study His word. Today we will focus on another one of God’s names that God invites us to be immersed in and know Him as. Yahweh Yireh - יְהוָה יִרְאֶה
This Wednesday – March 13th – Special Dinner & Scripture Reading
Please join us from 6PM on Wednesday for a special dinner treat from the Tomes & Parents. The theme this month is Breakfast for Dinner and I am told this is real breakfast food, no waffles, pancakes or French toast as I originally thought. $5/person, $15/family with children, Guests and those with Birthdays or Anniversaries in March eat free.

From 7:00 PM, we will spend an hour together in the Public Reading of the Scripture. Last time was very interesting, and a good discussion came out of it. I look forward to our time of reading together.
2nd God, Guys & Guns Men’s Retreat – July 19th – 21st, 2019
For those of you who love the outdoors, who love guns (and those who don’t hate them), this year we will have our 2nd God, Guys & Guns retreat. We will be going to Jeremy’s cabin up North. It doesn’t have the comforts of the cabin we stayed at during our first 3G Men’s Retreat but should be just as much fun. Stay tuned for more details, but I would like you to save the date and provide an RSVP, so we know how many are interested.

Men’s Breakfast – Next Sunday morning from 8:30
Next Sunday, 17th of February, from 8:30 AM all men of the congregation are invited to join us for the Men’s Breakfast. Our usual is Panera Bagels with cream cheese and LaVazza Coffee. If you come and want to add something to this royal breakfast, please do so. During the breakfast we will watch Play the Man, Becoming the Man God Created You to Be, with Mark Batterson. Please join us!
Family Movie Night – March 22nd from 7:00 PM
As Leslie & I will be in Ludington for a short R&R on the 29th this month, we have moved the Family Movie night to the 22nd. We will show the second of the God’s Not Dead movies. We will serve popcorn, you are welcome to bring your beverage of choice.
