Minister’s Memo:

Thanksgiving is upon us and I pray that as you look backwards at this year you find yourself full of reasons to give thanks. If you have not done so yet, this is a great time to stop and take an inventory, to look deeply at the way that God interacts with your life. I find that often times, the enemy does his best to obscure God’s love from us by having us focus on those things that make us unhappy and unfulfilled. In Mr. Rogers’ words “those who try to make you feel less than what you are, those do the greatest evil.” In Jesus’ sacrifice we find the beauty of God’s counter to all those who attempt to do that. “For God so loved YOU…” that even after 2,000+ years the cross points to this truth as strong as ever. To the truth that you are WORTH IT, that you are WORTH the sacrifice God made. What more could we ask for? And is it normal that any suffering or lack of we feel, and which may turn our lives upside down for a while, could overshadow an eternal love and promise of relationship that God has given us? As we gather today to worship and celebrate in communion the love God has for us I pray that you will open your mind and heart to really let Him in… in as a Father,… in as a King, … in as a Savior.
