Minister’s Corner

CHRIST IS RISEN!!!!

Allow me to welcome you one more time with this greeting as today the Eastern Christianity is celebrating Easter, the resurrection of our Lord. This was a tumultuous time in Jerusalem, no matter when you celebrate Easter. The Apostles were trying to come to grips with the events quickly unfolding around them. One of the ways I see the Apostles is bewildered, it seems that they just couldn’t believe their eyes seeing the events that were taking place. In many ways, when God brings about the accomplishment of His plans, I think we, humans, remain bewildered. It is hard to understand how God reasons because we do not have His perspective, or knowledge of the human heart and future. I think, the difference between God and us is the difference between a still shot and a movie. The still shot only captures and reveals a frozen in time frame, while the mind of God encompasses and reveals so much more. We truly only know in part… may this season of Easter reveal to you His heart.

This Wednesday – April 22nd – Bible Study from 7:00 PM

This Wednesday we will meet online again for a Bible Study hour and we will continue our discussion of where we go after we die.

I will send an email with log in details on Tuesday evening and a text reminder on Wednesday afternoon.

Elderly status check

Please continue to check on our elder members to make sure they are taking care of and are not in any need. As you do so please mark the file I set up on Google. Please email me if you do not have the link for it.

Bible Reading

To all who continued to participate this past week in our Bible Reading, thank you. I love our time together and look forward to continuing the reading of the Book of Acts with you.

COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis update

Although it looks like there are signs that the Governor is getting ready to lay plans for opening up the economy of our State, I believe that churches will be called on to continue with virtual services and avoid gathering together in large numbers for probably at least another month. I think it is advisable for us to plan on meeting the same way for the month of May as well. Perhaps we can start meeting at the building again in June, depending on how the covid-19 numbers look by then.

When it comes however to what should we do, I think it would be good for us to make a commitment to prayer that love and kindness triumph, that all of us get to experience God in a greater capacity and be filled with the Spirit so that we ourselves abound in grace. The world seems to need some healing right about now…
