Minister’s Welcome

Good morning and welcome to our worship gathering this morning. May you experience the peace of our Lord Jesus today as you come into fellowship with His body, the Church. The Bible tells us that this is a mystery, but God chose to show His secret to the world through the Church, the Body of Christ. I encourage you therefore, as you come together with Jesus’ followers to take captive every thought and direct toward the Father, toward noble things, and let not yourself be tempted, as you will, to focus on the material, the imperfections and those things the tempter will try to bring into front plan and rob you of the peace of Christ. It is no secret that no one here is perfect, that all here are imperfect and only perfected by the sacrifice of Jesus. Can you see Him here today? He promised He will BE where His followers gather in His name. HE IS HERE, but He is only to be found when He is sought after with the heart, the wholeness of your heart. Offer it to Him today!

This Wednesday – October 24^th – POTLUCK & Small Group

Please come Wednesday at 6:00PM for our monthly POTLUCK. Bring a dish to share and let’s celebrate and show our love to those born in October.

Following our dinner, from 7:00PM we will have our small group study of John 3. Please come and study with us and invite someone.

Bible Break

This Tuesday, October 23rd our Ladies’ Bible Break class will begin its new year of Bible study and fellowship. The Word of God is the source of our study. Priscilla Shirer’s study “Discerning The VOICE of GOD” will be used additionally. Ladies of all ages and your family, friends and neighbors (and those in the neighborhood surrounding this church) are invited and encouraged to attend. If you have any questions, please see Mary Clary, Bobbie Westerby or Nancy Schroeder. Please let us know of child care needs.

Next Upcoming Event: Halloween @ Troy – October 31^st – 6:30 – 8:30PM – Renamed Fall Fantastic, is an event of fun games, hot cider and cider donuts. Please make plans to attend and support us as we open a door to our neighbors to know us and to get out of the cold and enjoy a fun time & the love of God. Sign-up sheets for volunteers in the lobby and fellowship room.

Persecuted for their faith – Asia Bibi

Convicted of blasphemy by a Pakistani court, she received a sentence of death by hanging in 2010. After years of delays, a special three-member bench of Pakistan’s Supreme Court has heard the final appeal for Asia Bibi’s life. The decision could come down at any time. Her attorney in Pakistan vigorously argued that her trial was fraught with errors. Even the judges have demanded that the Prosecution produce real evidence supporting the charges against Asia Bibi.

Yet Islamic extremists aren’t interested in facts or the lack of proof. Angry mobs are organizing on the streets in Pakistan, demanding her execution. Pakistan’s Christian community fears they will be the first target of retribution if Bibi’s life is spared. They are asking for prayer and protection. This spiritual fight is very real PLEASE PRAY!
