Minister’s Welcome

Good morning! This is the last Sunday of the month and as we do things here, at Troy Church, it is a Family Sunday. We’ve started the Family Sunday out of the desire to bring our children alongside us in worship so today, instead of sending them to their own worship time, the children will stay with their families and worship and hear the preaching of the word. This is a day when we ask our adult members to model with an extra effort the character of Christ in worship; to give the reverence required to the reading and hearing of Scripture, to pour out their heart in prayers and to truly sing and make melody in their hearts. At the same time, we also hope that as they model to our children beautiful examples of devotion, they watch and learn from those we need to be like in order to receive the kingdom.

It is my prayer that Troy Church will be blessed today by God’s presence in a special way and that His Spirit will be felt strong and by Him your hearts will be filled with hope, strength and love. Amen!

This Wednesday – April 27th 2016 –  Devotional Wednesday

This Wednesday join us as for a devotional time of singing, praying and encouragement. Bring your burdens and lay them down at the feet of the Master. Focus your heart on the treasures of heaven and feel the freedom of His Spirit surge through your mind.

As always we will meet at 6:00PM for our Wonderful Wednesday fellowship dinner. This week will be TEAM 2 – Pizza Night! (Yay!)

Elijah Wagers request – Elijah is the young man from Rochester College that worshipped here

Troy Church, I received the following request from Elijah Wagers (if you have questions about who he is please ask Luke Beard or Candace Cain).

"I am in need of a room/apartment, for about a three-month term, from May to August. Preferably in Rochester Hills, Troy, Rochester, Auburn Hills, or Madison Heights.

I will be quiet, as I keep to myself; odds are good that you will rarely see me, though I am loyal to my friends when I get to know them. I don't consume drugs or alcohol. I would prefer a stay that costs me about $350 a month. I can help a little around the place if you need, though I do have my own involvements." My credit: 740's (can verify) My income: 1,100 a month (can verify) I work 38-44 hours per week ***Will explain more when we sit down to discuss this.***

Please reply to: Elijah Wagers, ewagers@rc.edu

God, Guys & Guns – Sign-Up TODAY – limited spaces available

We have secured the cabin for July 22nd – 24th so the retreat is ON. There is a sign-up sheet in the lobby. Space is limited (so if you did not sign up, do it). The lodging was offered free to us by the generosity of John Gresham and Mark Johnson. The cabin has a shooting range and we would have the opportunity to talk about God and being men of God, as well as shoot some guns, competition as well as just recreational shooting.

Enjoy Dinner in an Elegant Setting

Since 2007, the Royal Park Hotel in downtown Rochester has hosted Rochester College’s annual Partnership Dinner. The four-star hotel caters a wonderful meal in an elegant setting. The dinner, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 23rd provides a great evening out while providing assistance for student scholarships. For more information contact Nancy Schroeder.

Community clean-Up – April 30th

Next Saturday, weather permitting we would like to do a community clean-up / prayer walk to clean up the streets of our neighborhood. Please be here at 9:30. If your age does not allow you to bend and pick up trash please still come. You can pray as you walk with a younger teammate.
