Minister’s Corner

Good morning on this last Sunday of November. One more month and we’ll find ourselves in 2020…!!! Can you believe it?!?!

Thank you for being here this morning. This is the traditional week of the Thanksgiving Celebration and I am thankful for your presence here. I love seeing the Church assembled. The promise made to us by our Savior that when we gather together in His name, He is present with us, rings in my heart and my mind Sunday after Sunday as we gather to praise Him. What do Jesus’ words mean for you? What does their truth convey to your heart and mind today, this moment? “20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:20) As we gather this morning let these words of Jesus sink in deep, let the Spirit of God fill you with their true meaning, for this is no ordinary gathering you are about to enter but a gathering in which the physical and the spiritual blend perfectly to bring God glory!

Special Contribution for Staff/Missionaries:

For many years, we have had a special offering at this time of year to thank those that serve all year.  This year, the contribution will be taken up on Sunday, Dec. 8.

Please plan for this special offering.

Area Wide Worship – Parkside Church of Christ – TODAY – 6 PM

You and your congregations are all invited to join us at Parkside for our annual Area-Wide Thanksgiving Worship service on Sunday, November 24 @6 pm. As many of you know, this evening is a special opportunity to gather together people from a variety of local churches to give thanks to God and to celebrate the common identity we share in Christ. I hope you can join us!

Potluck – December Birthdays & Anniversaries & Family Movie Night

In December we will have the Family Movie night on the same evening as the Potluck and December Birthdays & Anniversaries celebrations. We will first meet for the Potluck at 6 PM on the 18^th and then we will watch a movie.

The movie for December will be a Christmas themed movie.

Town Hall

We were supposed to have a Town Hall this afternoon to talk about the Why? and the What? of our congregation. Last month as we gathered, we talked about our purpose and decided to take a longer time to think and let it sink. Today, instead, you will receive three pieces of paper, each with a question at the top. I prayerfully ask that you answer those questions in writing and then bring these papers back. I will explain a bit more in depth at the end of the services today but I do thank you in advance for your cooperation with this request as we prayerfully trace our course as a congregation through 2020 and beyond to the glory of our Father and God, in Jesus Christ, our Lord.
