Minister’s Welcome

Good morning! Welcome to today’s gathering of the Church in Troy. This week marks an important date in the liturgical Christian calendar, as the beginning of the period of Lent, leading up to the celebration of Easter. We start this period by talking about the first FRUIT of the SPIRIT, the reason for THE STORY, for the existence of the book we call the BIBLE and most definitely the reason for which Sunday after Sunday we gather here, GOD’s FAMILY, CHRIST’s BODY, united in a common HOPE, supported by a common FAITH, strengthen by the same LOVE; the LOVE OF GOD and the LOVE FOR EACH OTHER. Let’s celebrate together, let’s poor out our HEARTS to GOD in GRATITUDE as we continue to live in His GRACE! Welcome!

This Wednesday – March 1^st – Ash Wednesday Worship – 7:00PM

This Wednesday marks in the Christian liturgical calendar the beginning of the season of lent. We will have a service marking this important event in church history. I invite you to spend Wednesday as a day of fast and break the fast when we come together for Family Time at 6PM. Wednesday should be a day of contemplation of Christ’s purpose in suffering and dying for us. A day of introspect, of searching and identifying your sin most damaging relationally regarding God. What is the primary thing in your life that puts distance for you between you and God?

Family Time 6:00PM-7:00PM: We will break fast together for Ash Wednesday. I invite you to continue two fasts during the period of lent. Until Easter, resolve to eat no meat, AND fast from whatever sin you’ve identified in the exercise mentioned above. Make this lent period your stand with God’s help as you seek His strength and favor in fasting, that He may win this battle for you.

Children’s Fundraiser Bake Sale - TODAY

Our children and youth are preparing a bake sale TODAY to raise some funds for World Vision providing Zambia with fresh water. We are hoping to raise $100 towards drilling a well that would provide about 300 people with water close to where they live. The bake sale will take place after the church service. See the bulletin board in the foyer for cute ads our kids created. We appreciate your support in this ministry! - Nadya
