Minister’s Welcome

Good morning, on this last Sunday of October 2018. Two months are left out of this year. Looking back on 2018, what types of thoughts do you have? Are you filled with gratitude or do you feel a weight on your heart? Do you find yourself closer to God or farther apart? As our Fall Back time approaches, it is a good time to think back over the year, assess and re-adjust so you can finish this year strong. In Romans, the Apostle Paul talks to us about a principle, a law he sees in his body that fights against the law of the Spirit. A law that makes him do the things he doesn't want to do AND even MORE, stops him from DOING THE GOOD that he wants to do. This was not only applicable to Paul, but I believe every single one of us deals with this fight, with this struggle. Not just the struggle in not doing things we don’t want but that of DOING things we want or know we should do, be it prayer time, church attendance, church involvement, personal evangelism but also other stuff like eating right or in moderation, exercising, drinking enough water, etc.

Today, you are here, so a battle was won. Praise God! Thank you for being here! I pray God will touch you in a special way today!

This Wednesday – October 31st – Fall Fantastic – 6:00 to 8:30pm

Please come this Wednesday and have fun with us and the community at our Fall Fantastic event. We will have warm cider and cider donuts from Yates, will have fun games “minute to win it” type and more.

I do need some volunteers to help me with greeting guests from the community as they come in and show them the way to the fellowship room, as well as some people to man the games (super easy task, don’t stress over it) and also to make sure the cider and the donuts are out so people can have them as they come in.

If you can and don’t mind, bring with you some candy as well so we can give to the kids in the community that stop by. Let me know if you will bring candy so I know not to buy too much. Thank you in advance!

Birthdays this week: Michael Vickers (28th); Dorothy Warren (29th),

Anniversary: Gene and Mary Alice Cowie (30th)

Time Change: Don’t forget that next Sunday, November 4th time is changing, and you’ll get an extra hour of sleep. Those of you who still use clocks that don’t automatically reset please do so.

Bible Break

Our Ladies’ Bible Break class has began its new year of Bible study and fellowship, last Tuesday. The Word of God is the source of our study. Priscilla Shirer’s study “Discerning The VOICE of GOD” will be used additionally. Ladies of all ages and your family, friends and neighbors (and those in the neighborhood surrounding this church) are invited and encouraged to attend. If you have any questions, please see Mary Clary, Bobbie Westerby or Nancy Schroeder. Please let us know of child care needs.

Rummage Sale for the Parents: - November 10th

Please spread the word! Instead of a Fall Giveaway this year, we will have a Rummage Sale to help the Parents with their Adoption Fund. Please bring any items you want to contribute to the church building. For those of you who know people who are in real need of clothes please let us know and they can still receive these for free.

Thanksgiving Baskets

In the past we used to make a few baskets at Thanksgiving and bless a few families in need with them. I would like to have a few such baskets this year. Please let me know if you know of any families in need and who could benefit. Also please let me know if you are interested in donating for this ministry.
