Minister’s Welcome

Good morning and Welcome to September! Although Fall does not officially start until September 22nd, most of us get into the fall mindset when the calendar page changes from August to September. This weekend is the last hoorah of Summer for many of us and many people are up North trying to enjoy this last weekend of summer fun. For those of you left behind, thank you for choosing to be with Jesus’ people today and choosing to do so at Troy Church. I pray our time together is encouraging and challenging at the same time. I pray you will be encouraged and convicted to let the Spirit move in your life and bring you closer to God, discovering even more of His plans for you.

Fall usually brings about the beginning of new things. Schools start back up, fall cleaning renews our environment and it’s fitting that we are starting our Small Group ministry, so I invite you back here on Wednesday evening for our first Small Group class. I believe God will bless you through this ministry in ways you will find pretty amazing! To Him be the Glory!

This Wednesday – September 5th Family Time & Small Group (Prayer Hour)

Please come Wednesday at 6:00PM for our family time where we all bring our own take out to enjoy in the fellowship of our brother and sisters in Christ. The Church at its beginnings spent A LOT of time together sharing meals, praying and being in the Word. Today we may think this unimportant, a low priority, but believe me, PRAYER,  FELLOWSHIP and studying the Word together are extremely important to the unity and success of the church. This Wednesday we will also start our Small Group Ministry for part of the hour, with the remaining time spent in prayer.

Small Groups Ministry – Starting This Wednesday Evening

We are starting a new series of classes geared toward small groups. Consider studying the Bible weekly in your home or another home with another family from this congregation. One week you will lead the study in your home and the following week they will lead the study in their home. As we are a small congregation, as a first stage, I would like to encourage you to follow this model, two families, and if singles/widowers than three individuals rotating in each other’s homes every week. I have asked you to pray about this for quite a while and would like you to start approaching this couple/person with this idea.

Prayer Text

Have you been faithful to pray and text your person at 3:16PM or thereabouts? We’ve reached the end of the month. Has anything out of the ordinary happened? Has God placed anything in your heart? Today I would like you to choose a new person but to continue praying for the same person as well. The catch? The new person cannot be from this group. It must be someone who is not part of this group! So for the month of September you will pray and text to two people every day.

Welcome baby Lena Ann!

Sunday, September 16th (one week after the corn roast), right after services there will be a potluck welcome for baby Lena Ann McCauley. They do have a baby registry on Amazon (www.amazon.baby-reg). Please join us as we celebrate with the McCauleys and BIG sister Ada.

Community Celebration – NEXT WEEK

Our fall community event is here and next week we will have our Community Celebration. Please make plans to attend and invite as many people as you know. It should be a fun time for all and a good time to reconnect with people as well. Please bring a dish to share.
