Minister’s Welcome

Good morning! How are you doing this morning? No, really, … How are you this morning? With what thoughts, with what expectations did you walk through these doors this morning? For many centuries, the Church has gathered Sunday after Sunday, sometimes in catacombs, other times in basements, yet other times in living-rooms, or stadiums or auditoriums and fellowship rooms as the one in which we are gathering this morning. In freedom or under the threat of persecution, in open or in secret those who follow Christ have gathered to honor Him for His selfless sacrifice, and to praise God the Father for His Mercy and Grace in assigning Christ’s righteousness to all who believe in Him. However, for just as long a time people found it unsettling to rely solely on Jesus’ sacrifice for their salvation. We all know we fall short of God’s expectations, but wouldn’t honest effort count for something? And, so, the struggle between legalism and freedom started. The comfort that comes from marching and the uneasiness that comes from dancing, or I should say perhaps, the fear that comes with dancing, the fear that after all, freedom was the one who brought the fall. What motivates you today?

This Wednesday – September 6th – Family Time and Prayer Hour

Please make time to be here this Wednesday for our Family Time as we get together at 6:00PM to enjoy one another’s company as we take supper together. A few of us bring our take-out and we eat together while talking about life and enjoy some precious family time.

From 7:00PM to 8:00PM we will spend an hour in prayer. The disciples of Jesus were constantly together in prayer and the word and I invite you to experience this spiritual time with us.

Corn Roast / Community Celebration – NEXT WEEK

Our Corn Roast / Community Celebration is next Sunday. Please invite your family and friends to this fun time. Nancy Ahern will be away this year so I am looking for some volunteers who can help me organize it. I need someone to be in charge of the drinks, Frank and Brian Birdwell will be in charge of the corn roasting, someone to coordinate the food, someone to coordinate the tables & chairs set-up. Please let me know if you would like to help with any of these. Thank you!

Volleyball & Pickleball – TODAY – 6:30PM

We are looking forward to seeing you at 6:30PM this evening for some volleyball, pickleball, Christian music and ice cream. Please make plans to join us, even if you don’t play.  Invite any friends you would like, the more, the merrier.

Corinthian Gathering – today from 5:00PM

Please come back this evening for our monthly Corinthian Gathering. This is an unscripted time of worship and encouragement. Bring anything that God has encouraged you through; poem, scripture, prayer, song, story and through which you believe we could be encouraged as well. See you at 5!
