Minister’s Corner

Good morning on this first Lord’s Day of the new month and Kalo Mina (A Good Month) to you!

Thank you for being here with us as we try to show our gratitude to our God and Father for His love in Christ Jesus, our Lord, and for the many blessings through His Holy Spirit, who dwells in us. Today marks the beginning of our SOS week and our building will transform into a Homeless Shelter for the following week. I urge you to volunteer and thank you deeply for the love expressed in serving our guests. I am grateful for the opportunity that we have to stretch ourselves. To love and to serve to a degree that, by the end of the week, truly feels exhausting. One thing is for certain; Jesus said that when we do it for the least of these, we do it for Him and to Him. What a blessing? How exciting would you be if you had the opportunity this week to do something for Jesus in the flesh? Would you pull out all the stops? With what type of attitude would you serve Him?

We gather this morning to worship, and worship we will, with our hearts, with our voices, with our thoughts and prayers. But the Bible reveals to us that what we are about to engage in this coming week, is also worship, the time of worship that is pleasing to God. So I invite you along this week, to worship God together in loving His children.

This Wednesday – July 10thTroy & Heritage Church Serving SOS Dinner

This coming Wednesday, we will have a fish fry to serve as dinner for our SOS guests. We partnered for that day with Heritage Church of Christ and they will be bringing the side dishes. (Mac-n-Cheese, Coleslaw, Baked Beans, Cheesy Potatoes, etc) We (Troy) are responsible for the Fish & for the desserts. Please let me know if you will be willing to help with desserts on Wednesday.

Anniversaries this week: Tad & Nancy Schroeder (12th)

SOS Week  @ Troy Church

Although Troy Church has dinner responsibilities on Sunday (today) and Wednesday, it would be great to see you come and spend some of your time this week with our guests.

I am grateful to Royal Oak Church who is doing the Monday, Tuesday and Friday dinners; A Place of Grace who is doing the Thursday and the Shekinah church who is taking care of Saturday dinner.

After services today please put chairs in the auditorium away and help us transform our building into a home for our guests.

We are in dire need for drivers. Please let me know if you can drive.

Don’t forget please that our congregation is responsible providing dinner tonight. Fran is leading this evening, check with her regarding needs.

God, Guys & Guns – July 19th – 21st

There is still space available for this year’s men weekend retreat which is only two weeks away. Jeremy and I were up there this weekend and it’s a pretty great place. It will be a great time to grow closer as brothers in Christ, deeper in our knowledge of our Lord and better in our skill with guns. Please sign up, this is the last opportunity.
