Minister’s Welcome

Allow me to welcome you in the name of our Lord Jesus and to wish you an uplifting worship time experience. I pray that you will feel welcome and that you will be encouraged and loved as you make a point to encourage and love those in this assembly today.

We are journeying through the book of Galatians which is permeated with foundational truths of the Gospel and Christian life. Today we will tackle the second fact of the Christian Life, namely, the fact that we are INDWELT. I pray that this fact is, and if it is not, will be, foundational in your relationship with God and that through this truth you will receive strength, hope and joy.

In Thomas á Kempis' book, The Imitation of Christ he says, Jesus has many who love his kingdom in heaven, but few who bear his cross. He has many who desire comfort, but few who desire suffering. He finds many to share his feast, but few his fasting. All desire to rejoice with him, but few are willing to suffer for his sake. Many follow Jesus to the breaking of bread, but few to the drinking of the cup of his passion. Many admire his miracles, but few follow him in the humiliation of the cross.

Let us not be just followers but imitators of Christ. Or better yet, really let Him live through!

This Wednesday – October 11^th – Family Time and Peak of the Week

I look forward to seeing you this Wednesday for our Family Time as we get together at 6:00PM to enjoy one another’s company and take supper together. Please bring your favorite take-out and we’ll eat together while talking about life and enjoy some precious family time.

From 7:00PM to 8:00PM we will have our Peak of the Week during which we will be watching the first part of the movie Is Genesis History. Please join us. Popcorn will be provided.

Philip and Yanjing Oja

Our church family has an opportunity to honor and celebrate the marriage of Philip and Yanjing Oja. We know how helpful showers can be to couples as they settle into their marriages and first homes together. Since Philip and Yanjing are not here for a shower, a monetary gift will be sent to them to be used as they choose. In doing this, Philip’s home church can show our love to him and his wife. Please contact Mary Alice Cowie or Nancy Schroeder as soon as possible if you wish to help with this.

Bible Break – October 10^th @ 9:30

On Tuesday, October 10th at 9:30 a.m. the fall session of BIBLE BREAK will begin. For the first few weeks we will continue the study of Priscilla Shirer’s book FERVANT which we began this summer. Then we will begin her study on THE ARMOR OF GOD. All ladies are welcome and encouraged to share in this time of Bible study and fellowship. This ministry continues to bless those who are able to attend. Please let neighbors, friends and family know about this class. For questions see Mary Clary, Bobbie Westerby or Nancy Schroeder.
