Minister’s Welcome

Good morning and Welcome to our Community Celebration / Corn Roast Sunday. I hope that you’ve been looking forward to this event. Even if today the weather is most definitely not the one I envisioned or hoped for, I pray that all of us will be able to enjoy good food, good music, good games and excellent fellowship as we express our gratitude to the community around our building.

We owed a debt we could not pay. A debt of a kind that none of these agencies claiming to help you with your debt could do anything about it. A debt that required a perfect love, a perfect sacrifice. The Bible tells us that “…God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 NKJV) In dying for us Christ was the declaration of love towards us of a perfect being, sinless, all powerful. In that state, in that filth in which we were, God looked and saw His children. We are here today because of that. We love because we were first loved. We are not perfect yet, through the eyes of love… we are! Praise God!

This Wednesday – September 12th Family Time & Small Group (Prayer Hour)

Please come Wednesday at 6:00PM for our family time where we all bring our own take out to enjoy in the fellowship of our brothers and sisters in Christ. The Church at its beginnings spent A LOT of time together sharing meals, praying and being in the Word. Today we may think this unimportant, a low priority, but believe me, PRAYER,  FELLOWSHIP and studying the Word together are extremely important to the unity and success of the church. This Wednesday we will continue our Small Group Ministry for part of the hour, with the remaining time spent in prayer.

Small Groups Ministry – Starting This Wednesday Evening

We’ve started a new series of classes geared toward small groups. Consider studying the Bible weekly in your home or another home with another family from this congregation. One week you will lead the study in your home and the following week they will lead the study in their home. As we are a small congregation, as a first stage, I would like to encourage you to follow this model, two families, or one family and one or two singles/widowers rotating in each other’s homes every week. I have asked you to pray about this for quite a while and would like you to start approaching this couple/person with this idea.

Prayer Text

Please continue to text your person at 3:16PM or thereabouts? Have you also chosen a new person not from this group? It must be someone who is not part of this group! So for the month of September you will pray and text to two people every day.

Welcome baby Lena Ann! - next Sunday

Next Sunday, September 16th, right after services there will be a potluck welcome for baby Lena Ann McCauley. They do have a baby registry on Amazon (www.amazon.baby-reg). Please join us as we celebrate with the McCauleys and BIG sister Ada (whose birthday is TODAY).

Community Celebration – TODAY

Our fall community event is here and we will have our Community Celebration after services today. Please make plans to attend and invite as many people as you know. It should be a fun time for all and a good time to reconnect with people as well. Please bring a dish to share.
