Minister’s Corner
Good morning and thank you for being here today. This is the day for centuries, millennia really, chosen by Jesus’ followers, His disciples, to celebrate His victory over death and our enemy. The things we will be doing here today are in the spirit of the bewildered feelings with which the Apostles beheld Jesus’ folded clothes in the tomb found empty on Sunday morning. From the gloom of the previous days as they watched Jesus betrayed, beaten, tortured, humiliated and eventually executed on the cross to the wonder of the empty tomb, to the amazement of Jesus, in flesh, walking in a locked room, to the joy of the Gospel, we pray, we sing, we dedicate and re-dedicate ourselves to God as we pursue Jesus even closer, for He is the “founder and perfecter of our faith.” (Hebrews 12:2)
Today is not an isolated event but one more link added to the unbroken chain of the history of Christ’s Church, His Bride, on earth. Let us approach Him with thanksgiving, especially at this national thanksgiving time, and let us receive His grace for the week ahead.
