Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

The cold has set in and I assume warm, beautiful, Michigan Fall weather will soon be a distant memory. As we prepare to winter let us combat the gray of the Michigan Winter skies with the beauty of our Lord, with the warmth of His love for us and with the hope God has given each of us in Christ. If we, who are with hope, get to feel at one time or another the “winter blues’ how much more do those without a hope, without the assurance and comfort of a Savior in their corner?

The winter is long and the night falls quick, let us have our faith candles burning to give light to all in this dark world of sin. It starts with our will to purposefully live for something other than ourselves. You being here today is an example of that. Leaving the warmth and comfort of your bed you joined us, encouraging us, loving us, letting Christ shine in you. This is how it’s done. Thank you & may Christ richly bless you here, today.

This Wednesday – November 16th – Family Time & Games Night

On Wednesday, we will meet in person for our Family Time at 6:00PM for those of you who want to bring their meal and eat it in the company of other brothers and sisters. This is our weekly fellowship meal.

From 7PM, we will have our Games Night so bring your favorite board or card game (no video games) and play it with someone or all of us.

Birthdays this week: Vincenza Florescu (19th)

Zoom Bible Reading – Tuesday & Thursday - 7:15PM-7:45PM

Please join us as we read through the New Testament. This week we will read on Tuesday and on Thursday.

Town Hall Meeting

We have not had a Town Hall meeting in a long, very long while, however, as we approach 2023, I would like the congregation to have a Town Hall meeting so we can discuss the 2023 Calendar and ministries. I was going to suggest after services on the 1st Sunday of December. Look for an email this week to each of you asking for an RSVP. If you are out of town, we will be making the meeting available via Zoom as well.

Offering

This morning you can make your offering in the plate at the back of the auditorium, or you can as always have the option to make your offering online at https://troychurch.net/give

If neither one of these options are suitable, please send a check to Lisa Jones. Her address is in the directory. Thank you.

We bring our requests to you O Lord:

For those who have suffered loss: Oja & Pryludko Families, Wright Family; Clary Family;

For those healing: Kerry Appolson; Bobby Westerby; Fred & Barb Oja, Linda Palmer, Kerrie Birdwell, Pat Zurlinden, Landon Oja.

For the people of Ukraine

“The heroes of faith do not let themselves distracted or discouraged by that which is temporary. They focus on the eternal and continue to be in awe of Who God Is.” Manuel Florescu
