Minister’s Corner
Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!
Every year as this holiday comes around, I find it such a privilege to be able to wish all our mothers a Happy Mother’s Day! Without you there wouldn’t be us! Your place in God’s design is so special and so central to life and to the many examples God gives of His love and character. Today as we gather to worship God for His love and kindness to us, we can’t help but acknowledge the immense gratitude we feel towards God because of our mothers. I look at Leslie and her work with the kids and I take comfort because I know that to an even greater degree that is what God is doing with me. The spirit of sacrifice and self-denial of a mother in living life for her children is truly amazing and inspiring. Thank you, mothers, for loving your children in a way that brings glory to God! I can totally see the reality of why Paul affirms that women will be saved through childbearing. There is no greater example of self-sacrifice daily self-sacrifice than the way I see Mother’s live day in and day out.
This Wednesday – May 17th – Family Time & Worship Night
On Wednesday, we will meet in person for our Family Time at 6:00PM for those of you who want to bring their meal and eat it in the company of other brothers and sisters. This is our bi-weekly fellowship meal.
From 7PM, we will spend an hour playing games. We will be playing a game together as a group.
Birthdays this Week: Linda Palmer (15th); Ben Mize (15th); Nancy Ahern (19th)
Soccer Camp – August
As an outreach to the community I’ve been thinking about organizing a Summer Soccer Camp during the month of August. I am still putting the details together. This would be for kids between 6 and 10. Please let me know if you are aware of anyone who could benefit from it.
Sunday Evening Volleyball – Starting on May 21st.
Due to Mother’s Day we are pushing this event by one week, therefore, beginning on Sunday May 21st (weather permitting) we would like to start our Sunday afternoon volleyball and fellowship. Please let your friends know. This is a great opportunity to invite your friends to Church!
