Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

One of the greatest challenges of a believer is not the believing part in itself but the relationship. I know many followers of Jesus who have no issue believing or confessing Jesus as Lord, but yet their relationship with Him is no closer today than the day they were baptized. As the only way to be renewed is through the relationship, I believe it to be a continuous struggle for those whose relationship with Christ doesn’t reach new depths weekly, to stay renewed in mind and sharp in their focus to worship. Have you ever been bored at church? Or, with the church, even the worship service? This is what I found in my life to be a symptom pointing to a stagnation in my relationship with Christ, because no matter what service I am in and how uplifting or not uplifting, engaging or not engaging it is, when my relationship with Christ is right, while in service I can’t stop talking to Him in my mind and thinking things, things that I believe are Spirit led as they heal, encourage and strengthen my spirit. How is your relationship with Christ today? Check your focus during the worship service and see what you find out. God’s peace to you!

This Wednesday – November 17th – Family Time & Bible Study

On Wednesday, we will meet in person for our Family Time at 6:00PM for those of you who want to bring their meal and eat it in the company of other brothers and sisters. This is our weekly fellowship meal.

From 7PM, we will continue the new study on the subject of suffering lead by Caleb Simmons. Please join us in person and on Zoom for this insightful study.

Leadership nominations

Thank you once again to you all for your patience and support during this process as we seek God’s guidance in selecting new shepherds for our congregation. As I mentioned last week, 12 men have been nominated ton one degree of another and that truly feels me with joy and hope. These men were: Jon Balun, Frank Birdwell, Gary Flatt, Manu Florescu, Dick Martin, Kyle McCauley, Pat Oja, Foy Palmer, Ron Palmer, Harish Sampath, Caleb Simmons and Charles Tomes. The two brothers nominated in majority by our congregation to be our shepherds are Pat Oja and Frank Birdwell who have been informed of their nomination and who will provide a response to us today. Please join me in praying for these brothers and their families as they consider the call to this ministry.
