Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Good morning, and welcome! I am grateful to gather together today, again, as a church family to worship our faithful God. I am reminded that the world around us constantly changes, but the truth of God and the hope we have in Christ remain steady and unshakable. What a blessing it is to encourage one another and be strengthened by His Word together.

This morning we turn to Acts 14:8–20, where Paul and Barnabas experience a dramatic change in the crowd around them. One moment they are praised as gods, and the next they are attacked and left for dead. It is a powerful reminder of how quickly public opinion and human approval can shift. Our culture today is much the same celebrating one moment and condemning the next. Yet through it all, Paul remained faithful to the mission God had given him. As we worship today, may we be reminded not to build our lives on the changing praise of people, but on the unchanging truth of Christ. May God give us courage to stand faithfully for Him in every season.

This Wednesday – May 20th, 6PM Dinner & 7PM Bible Class

Please make plans to join us for our BYOD (Bring Your Own Dinner) mid-week Fellowship at 6PM on Wednesday. This is a great time to connect, strengthen relationships and catch up with one another.

From 7PM we will have the last class on humanism with Kenny Burtch.

Birthdays this week: Lisa Lay (17th); Nancy Ahern (19th)

Small Groups – Saturdays or Sunday Evenings

I was wondering if over the summer we can try to have some small groups on Sunday evenings, even Saturday evenings. Leslie & I would like to create a space for more personal fellowship outside of the church building. Let us know if interested in exploring this with us.

Church Care Center Worship Service – Next Date – June 7th

Please mark your calendars for June 7th to attend and help us with the worship service at the Care Center. For the last couple of times, we’ve been hurting for people.

Greeting Ministry – Every Sunday – 15 minutes before start of worship

Please let me know if you are willing to serve as a greeter. All you need is a smile and a willing heart to serve the Lord in this way.

Zoom Bible Reading – Monday & Thursday – 7:15pm

Please join us for a bi-weekly Bible reading over Zoom. The group meets on Monday & Thursday evenings from 7:15pm. We generally pray and read together three chapters. Usually only lasts about 20-30 minutes.

Offering

This morning besides the offering plate, you can as always have the option to make your contribution online at https://troychurch.net/give

If neither one of these options are suitable, please send a check to Lisa Jones. Her address is in the directory. Thank you.
