Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Thank you in advance for your plans to worship with us this morning. Although we are still only worshipping remotely today, I pray that God grants us grace through the presence and unity of His Spirit that we may encourage and lift one another to greater dependency and trust in our Lord. We are standing on God’s promises, at this time of uncertainty and throughout all the days of our lives. Most things of our world can eb categorized in the unreliable category. What can we count on today? What can we count on when the unexpected, the unimaginable happens? I’ve experienced quite a few twists and turns throughout my lives, and I have learned that the only constant to carry me forward, the only sure thing to keep me sane and centered is the fact that God does not break His promises. No, not once! God is a constant , THE CONSTANT that calibrates all of us to the truth, to the fact that when this world became subject to sin, we became only travelers through it and each one of us today IS HEAVEN BOUND!

This Wednesday – September 1^st – Family Time & Bible Study

On Wednesday, we will once again meet in person for our Family Time. The time when we gather around the table to have dinner together. Bring your brown bag or take-out food to church and let’s eat together as God blesses our fellowship.

From 7PM, we will continue our study with Charles through the OT from a Jewish perspective. Please join us in person and on Zoom for this insightful study.

Keith Price Memoria Service – September 10^th

As we are still trying to come to terms with the sudden departure of our dear brother Keith Price, we are also preparing for a Memorial Service to be held on September 10^th from 11:00AM. This service will be followed by a luncheon. Thank you to all who have volunteered to help with the luncheon. I will be in touch with you all during this week so we can put together a concrete plan.

Some of you have asked about the obituary for Keith. It is under development, and I will publish details when it becomes available.

2022

Although the world is still filled with uncertainty and unrest due to Covid, wars and economic environment, our mandate to spread the Gospel of Christ to every heart is steadfast and we must continue. We’ve learned many new ways to connect during these past two years and developed many new habits, some good, some not so good, when it comes to the Church and the mission we have from our Lord in this world.

As we are fast approaching the last quarter of 2021, I want to appeal to all the Troy Church Family to a commitment to fasting and prayer for our 2022 year as a faith community. We will start making plans and bringing them before God. We have leadership challenges, missional challenges, environmental challenges, and we need God’s clear direction as we go forward. More on this topic to come. Thank you in advance!
