Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

As we celebrate the 2nd Sunday of Advent, I also get the opportunity to wish καλό μήνα, (kalo mina) a good new month to you and yours and may the Lord bless you with a December unlike any other, full of wonder, of hope, of love, of joy and of peace.

Our theme this Advent Day is LOVE and as we ponder and open our hearts to God’s LOVE, I pray, that it is a definite confidence builder, and we get to understand to a greater degree the relationship God wants to have with each one of us. We all know that God loves us. The Bible says it, others tell it to us all the time, yet, in moments of hardship, of struggle, of hurt, moments which sadly abound in our days, it hardly seems real. We get discouraged, worried, and wonder what we have done and for what are we punished and easily forget that the punishment we deserve has already been dealt out and suffered by the ONE who LOVES us.

This Wednesday – December 7th – Family Time & Prayer / Cards

On Wednesday, we will meet in person for our Family Time at 6:00PM for those of you who want to bring their meal and eat it in the company of other brothers and sisters. This is our weekly fellowship meal.

From 7PM, we will have our prayer and cards Wednesday. We will take this opportunity to pray for the neighborhood in which the Church is located, as well as our neighborhoods, for 30 minutes after which we will write Christmas Cards to our neighbors.

Birthdays this week: Jeremy Parent (5th)

Zoom Bible Reading – Monday & Thursday - 7:15PM-7:45PM

Please join us as we read through the New Testament. This week we will read on Monday and on Thursday as per the usual schedule.

Town Hall Meeting – Today 12:30PM

After services we will have our Town Hall meeting. I will order pizza from Hungry Howie’s, including gluten free. It would be great if someone can bring a salad to share for those who are not pizza fans.
