Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

καλό μήνα (kalo mina) A good month to you as we’ve stepped into this new month. I pray that God will bless you with a bountiful month of amazing spiritual moments as well as the fulfillment of wishes and desires bringing you closer to God, closer to the image of Christ, closer to the maturity found in Christ and made available to us in the Spirit. September  marks the beginning of our meteorological Autumn but as we take a step closer the wonder of God’s creation makes that my friends in Brazil celebrate the beginning of their meteorological Spring and thus, one step closer to their Summer. September it is also the beginning of the Ecclesiastical calendar and for our children, the beginning of a new school year. Originally this was the 7th month (Septem = seven) until about 451BC. Whatever its meaning, for us, I pray, it is blessed with a true spiritual harvest in our hearts and in our community, in Christ’s name.

This Wednesday – September 7th – Family Time & Philippians Study

On Wednesday, we will meet in person for our Family Time at 6:00PM for those of you who want to bring their meal and eat it in the company of other brothers and sisters. This is our weekly fellowship meal.

From 7PM, we will continue the Bible Study on the book of Philippians with Caleb Simmons which will also be available to those interested in participating on Zoom.

Birthdays this week: Dick Martin (5th); Marty Quigley (7th); Ada McCauley (9th);

Zoom Bible Reading – Tuesday & Friday - 7:15PM-7:45PM

Please join us as we read through the New Testament. This week we will read on Tuesday Hebrews 9-11 and on Friday we will read Hebrews 12-13, if you want to catch up to where we are.

Community Celebration – Next Sunday

Next Sunday, after services we will have our Corn Roast – Celebrate Community Potluck. I was thinking perhaps it would be best if someone can accept leadership and coordinate the food, so we don’t end up with 6 types of baked beans and no chicken. I made a list of main staples which you can find on the table in the lobby. Please sign-up. There are also some empty spaces if you are bringing something else.

Offering

This morning you can make your offering online at https://troychurch.net/give

Or, by sending a check to Lisa Jones. Thank you.

We bring our requests to you O Lord:

For those who have suffered loss: Oja & Pryludko Families; Lora Price, Nancy Schroeder, Mary Alice Cowie, Wright Family; Clary Family;
