Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Here we are, a new month again, so I wish you a Kαλό μήνα (Kalo Mina) Good Month. We’ve been blessed with great weather and a true fall season so far in Michigan and I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I did. We are now in the last two months of the year and as we prepare for mid-term election and planning for the upcoming year, I would like us all to remember that God is in control and that we are foreigners and strangers in this land as we travel to our true home. As we look at the promise of Jesus through the Old Testament, and not just the promise but the protection God provided for Abraham’s seed, indeed for Eve’s promised SEED we can be certain that no matter the afflictions and the conflicts of the earth, God is faithfully accomplishing His promises and in the end for all of His children there is only victory. Victory over death & suffering!

This Wednesday – November 9th – Family Time & Question Night

On Wednesday, we will meet in person for our Family Time at 6:00PM for those of you who want to bring their meal and eat it in the company of other brothers and sisters. This is our weekly fellowship meal.

From 7PM, we will look at the answer to one question asked by placing the question in the box by the main entrance. Since nobody asked a question this week and we are in a Mid-Term election week we will look at: “How does a Christian submit to a corrupt government?”

Birthdays this week: Pamela McCauley (6th)

Anniversaries this week: Frank & Fran Birdwell (7th)

Zoom Bible Reading – Tuesday & Thursday - 7:15PM-7:45PM

Please join us as we read through the New Testament. This week we will read on Tuesday and on Thursday.

Town Hall Meeting

We have not had a Town Hall meeting in a long, very long while, however, as we approach 2023, I would like the congregation to have a Town Hall meeting so we can discuss the 2023 Calendar and ministries. I was going to suggest after services on the 1st Sunday of December. I will send out an email to each of you and ask for an RSVP. If you are out of town, we will be making the meeting available via Zoom as well.

Offering

This morning you can make your offering in the plate at the back of the auditorium, or you can as always have the option to make your offering online at https://troychurch.net/give

If neither one of these options are suitable, please send a check to Lisa Jones. Her address is in the directory. Thank you.

We bring our requests to you O Lord:

For those who have suffered loss: Oja & Pryludko Families, Wright Family; Clary Family;

For those healing: Kerry Appolson; Bobby Westerby; Fred & Barb Oja, Linda Palmer, Kerrie Birdwell, Pat Zurlinden, Landon Oja.

For the people of Ukraine

“He who denies the existence of God, has some reason for wishing that God did not exist.” Saint Augustine
