Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Good morning, Troy church family, on this, the second Sunday of Advent! Though I am away today, my heart is with you as you gather to worship our Lord and prepare your hearts for the coming of Christ. I am grateful for Pat Oja, who once again will be bringing the message this morning, and I pray that your time together is uplifting, encouraging, and filled with the peace of God’s presence.

Today, we light the Candle of Hope, remembering that hope begins with love. God’s deep and steadfast love for us gives rise to a hope that does not fade, because it is anchored in His promises. As we place our faith in that hope, joy grows within us as we look forward to Christ’s return in glory—at a time of God’s perfect choosing, just as He sent His Son into the world long ago in the manger. May this season of Advent remind us of the sure hope we have in Christ and fill our hearts with gratitude for the love that made that hope possible.

This Wednesday – 10^th December – 6PM Dinner – 7PM Bible Class

Please make plans to join us for our BYOD (Bring Your Own Dinner) mid-week Fellowship at 6PM on Wednesday. This is a great time to connect, strengthen relationships and catch up with one another.

From 7PM we will have a Bible Class continuing our 2 Peter study.

Bible Break – Tuesday, December 9^th – 10AM

The Bible Break ladies’ Bible meets every Tuesday with 9:45AM coffee & social time. Study starts at 10AM and ends at 11:30AM. This season the ladies will be focusing on the Hebrews text of the New Testament. Invite a friend!

Church of Christ Care Center – TODAY – 2pm

This will be the last Care Center Worship Service for the 2025. Please plan on attending and bless the residents there with the singing of carols and an atmosphere of Christmas. This may possibly be the last Christmas for a good number of them.

Zoom Bible Reading – Mondays & Thursdays – 7:15pm

Please join us for a bi-weekly Bible reading over Zoom. The group meets on Monday & Thursday evenings from 7:15pm. We generally pray and read together three chapters. We are in Leviticus. Usually only lasts about 20-30 minutes.

Bake Sale – December 14^th - NEXT SUNDAY

Please join us in our bake sale fundraiser on December 14^th, after the services, to support World Vision efforts for poor families! If you want to bring baked goods, please contact Nadya. Otherwise, come ready to purchase some delectables for your Christmas sweet tooth!
