Minister’s Corner
Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!
Good morning and A Good New Month to you. We are blessed to start the new year with a reminder of the importance of the reality of this verse: “9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form” – Colossians 2:9 – The celebration of the Christian world of the feast of Epiphanes or Theophany celebrates the different manifestations in Christ’s life of His true identity as God. Epiphany means manifestation or appearance and Theophany means literally “God’s appearance” or “God’s manifestation” and Christians hold celebrations to remember Jesus’ revelation as God through the gifts of the Magi, through His baptism, through the miracle at the wedding of Cana and other such events. Let us joyfully remember today the day that God became man, fully revealing Himself to our mortal minds through our Lord Jesus Christ so that we may grasp the depth of His love. Thank you יְהֹוָה! (Yhwh)
This Wednesday – January 10th – Family Time & Bible Study
On Wednesday, we will meet in person for our Family Time at 6:00PM for those of you who want to bring their meal and eat it in the company of other brothers and sisters. This is our bi-weekly fellowship meal.
From 7PM, We will continue the new Bible Study on Faith Foundations with David Platt – Session 2 – The Spirit-Empowered Life.
Birthdays this week: Mary Alice Cowie (9th), Spencer Oja (9th), Diane Quigley (10th), Brad Imhoff (13th)
Anniversaries this week: Fred & Barb Oja (12th)
Online Bible Reading – Monday & Thursday – 7:15PM.
We hope that among your New Year Resolutions this year is to spend time with us reading the Bible together. This is a time ( in addition to you own personal Bible reading time), that offers us the possibility to be together in the word just as the Apostles and the early Church left by Christ, our Lord was. 100% pleasing to the Lord, I believe.
World Bible School – Coming Soon
A quick update that I am still in conversations with the Director of the World Bible School to figure out the best way for our congregation to get involved in this missions ministry to spread the Gospel through one-on-one written Bible studies.
