Minister’s Corner
Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!
Good morning to you on this, the Lord’s Day, when God’s people wake up with their mind set on praising the Lord. Perhaps however, it is not this day alone that we wake up with the mindset of praising the Lord for it is the greatest privilege of every day we have. Do you see worship as a privilege, or as a chore? Is it something you HAVE to do, or is it something you GET to do? There is a great distinction between the two and although we people may not be able to see the difference in the mind of the people walking into the church building, God does. In front of God, we wear our hearts on our sleeves. They are out there, plain to see, to the core of every motive we have to be gathering together. This is not meant to scare you but to encourage you. To encourage you to be honest and open for there is no need to pretend, and the critical thing is that it is only when we are true and honest God steps in to helps us change and overcome our nature. This is part of why being with the church in worship is so important. Try it today!
This Wednesday – August 21st – Family Time & Bible Study
On Wednesday, we will meet in person for our Family Time at 6:00PM for those of you who want to bring their meal and eat it in the company of other brothers and sisters. This is our bi-weekly fellowship meal.
From 7PM, we will have a time of study led by Manu.
Wednesday Class – Suggestions Please
We would like to see a greater number of our brothers and sisters on Wednesday evening and I am wondering what would take to make that happen. Please provide some suggestions that would make your trip to the church building worthwhile. It is always the same 8 or 9 families, and we would love to fellowship with some of our other brothers and sisters. That comes up to about 50% of the congregation so I’m not saying it’s not good. Definitely better % than many congregations but there are some of you we miss not seeing more than once a week.
Church of Christ Care Center – September 1st
Our next worship at the Care Center is September 1st. Please make plans to attend. Please arrive at 1:45ish. Service starts at 2PM but being early is a great way to shake some hands and show a bit of love to the residents of the Care Center.
Bible Study
If you would like an individual, one on one, Bible study on a certain subject, please send me an email at manu@troychurch.net and we can arrange a weekly meeting. Space is limited so first come, first served.
Offering
This morning besides the offering plate, you can as always have the option to make your contribution online at https://troychurch.net/give
