Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Good morning to you all and thank you for being a part of the worship gathering at Troy Church this morning. One of the things I’ve grown accustomed to do is coin a phrase I tell myself every time I come through one of the doors in this place. A phrase that helps me to refocus or gain the right perspective no matter how my week has been. For me, it is a Bible verse, for you it could be something else that may help you switch your brain to the right attitude. There are times when I come to church and I am wore out and tired. You may be surprised as this verse has nothing to do with worship, however it is absolutely conducive to worship as it is, I believe, the worship God wants, the very basis of worship. That verse is Philippians 2:3-4 – “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” These verses make me forget everything hanging heavy on my shoulders, or tiredness, or anything else and allows me to focus on church, worship and God. What is your phrase?

This Wednesday – 28^th May – Fellowship Dinner & Bible Class – 6:00PM

Please make plans to join us for our BYOD (Bring Your Own Dinner) mid-week Fellowship at 6PM on Wednesday. This is a great time to connect, strengthen relationships and catch up with one another.

From 7PM we will begin a new study through 1 Peter led by Manu.

Bible Break – on break till fall

The ladies Bible study taking place on Tuesday mornings is now on break until fall. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered and made this ministry a success.

Zoom Bible Reading – on break till fall

Thank you to everyone involved in this ministry. Every time I’ve been able to be a part of it, it has been a tremendous blessing. See you in the fall.

Church of Christ Care Center – Next Sunday

Next Sunday is June 1^st, the 1^st Sunday of the month and it is again Troy Church’s turn to minister to the older folks at the Care Center. Please plan to attend and bless the residents there through your singing, prayers and encouraging words. When there is more of us there singing sounds amazing. If you’ve never been, you may find yourself thinking, “Troy Church can actually sing…” lol. Please join us!.
