Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Good morning and a blessed Sunday to you on this Pentecost Sunday when Christianity remembers this monumental moment when the Holy Spirit descended upon the church giving it power, knowledge and wisdom to accomplish the mission set before it by Jesus. You and I are part of this line of followers charged with the spreading of the Gospel and the making of disciples for Jesus. In His unfathomable wisdom God decided that we will be up to the assigned task. I know that most of us, most of the time, may not feel up to the task or even equipped for it. God, our Father, says otherwise and has placed on us that responsibility with the full foreknowledge of our weaknesses and our failures. Yet, He still called us and still pre-destined us for this task so let us roll our proverbial sleeves up and put on to this task. Discipleship is our calling and our duty and today reminds us that God is an active participant with us. We don’t go at it alone, it is God with us, it is God for us, it is God in us! Amin!

This Wednesday – 11^th June – Fellowship Dinner & Bible Class – 6:00PM

Please make plans to join us for our BYOD (Bring Your Own Dinner) mid-week Fellowship at 6PM on Wednesday. This is a great time to connect, strengthen relationships and catch up with one another.

From 7PM we will begin a new study through 1 Peter led by Manu.

Caleb & Della Simmons Farewell – Today, after worship

Please stay and wish Caleb and the family farewell as they depart for Alabama. We have enjoyed their fellowship these past few years and wish them God’s favor and blessings as they move back to Alabama.

Summer at Troy

Summer is quickly approaching, even though some days it definitely does not feel like it, and I’ve been thinking of what activities can we have around the building as a faith family to take advantage of the beautiful grounds of the church. I welcome suggestions: bonfire night, volleyball social, church picnic, water fights, whatever… Please let me know what would motivate you to come out and spend time with us this summer.

Church of Christ Care Center – Thank you

Thank you to all of you who were at the Care Center last Sunday. We had our biggest crowd yet and the residents enjoyed it tremendously. I am sure it did not go unnoticed by our Heavenly Father.
