GodQuest Day 6

This week we start the second stage of our Journey - a look at how it all began.

Remember: What you believe about the origin of life and the universe determines ultimately how you view yourself and life itself.

Today dedicate sometime to meditate on the world around you, the life you've experienced so far.
- What is one thing about the world that amazes you in a positive way? (For example: A place you visited (Grand Canyon), a human capability, a characteristic of an animal, or a scientific truth that takes your breath away)
- Can you find any example among the things you've encountered whose scientific theory of beginning does not seem right?
- How many of the things around you point to an intelligent Creator and how many to pure and unaided evolutionary process?

Answer honestly to yourself these questions and note the certainty or the doubt you feel in regards to each:

1. The universe is too organized and complex for it to have originated on its own. It must have had a creator.

2. The universe has always existed.

3. Life began with very simple life forms (such as single cell organisms) and then evolved by purely natural means to the complex species that exist today.

Remember the testimony of Lee Strobel in the video we watched on Sunday. How his understanding of these questions impacted his life.

Think about your life up to this point. Think of how your answers to these questions varied over the years and identify how these beliefs affected your life.

Read Isaiah 40: 25-26; Job 38:31-32 and meditate on these.

Write all these and last two weeks' discoveries in a journal. It will be helpful for you to look back when this journey ends.

I pray blessings of insight and revelation upon your time spent searching for the TRUTH.
