Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

May our good God and Father bless this new beginning of week in your life with the blessings you seek and those you need!

I don’t know about you, but for me, to wake up on Sundays and know exactly that my first priority is getting this bulletin out to you, thinking of you and praying over you as you are enjoying the last hour or so of that awesome morning deep sleep is a true highlight. A space that truly anchors my week and helps me focus on what matters most right off the gate of the new week.

For millennia Christians have reserved the beginning of each new week to celebrate Christ’s victory over death and to show gratitude through communal worship of song & prayer & reading and talking about the written Word of God. Perhaps in the same mindset of setting the right focus, the correct tone for the rest of the week when our individual worship takes place in the ways we love. I pray that today sets the right tone for you personally and the week ahead will be a week of deep worship and communion with our Lord. Thank you for being at Troy Church today.

This Wednesday – September 15th – Family Time & Bible Study

On Wednesday, we will meet in person for our Family Time. The time when we gather around the table to have dinner together. Bring your brown bag or take-out food to church and let’s eat together as God blesses our fellowship.

From 7PM, we will continue our study with Charles through the OT from a Jewish perspective. Please join us in person and on Zoom for this insightful study.

Birthdays this week: Charlotte Simmons (12th); Ryeland Oja (13th); Lauren Birdwell (15th); Mary Clary (15th); Angelo & Parker DeMaggio (15th); Chris Appolson (17th)

Sunday Bible Classes – All Ages – Next Sunday – 10AM - September 19th

Next Sunday morning we will resume our regular schedule with Bible Classes for all ages prior to our worship our at 11:00AM. Please set your alarms, mark your calendars and let’s try to have 100% attendance. We will have an adult class taught by Kyle, class which will be available through Zoom as well, cradle roll class with Pamela, Pre-school class with Lauren, Elementary school class with Manu and Teen class with Leslie & Della. Unfortunately, we only have the capability to Zoom one class, our adult class. As our worship is a Family Multi-Generational Worship, the only time we provide Bible education geared toward specific ages is during the 10AM – 10:45AM Bible Class and we hope that you all will take advantage of this time.

2022

Although the world is still filled with uncertainty and unrest due to Covid, wars and economic environment, our mandate to spread the Gospel of Christ to every heart is steadfast and we must continue. We’ve learned many new ways to connect during these past two years and developed many new habits, some good, some not so good, when it comes to the Church and the mission we have from our Lord in this world.

As we are fast approaching the last quarter of 2021, I want to appeal to all the Troy Church Family to a commitment to fasting and prayer for our 2022 year as a faith community. We will start making plans and bringing them before God. We have leadership challenges, missional challenges, environmental challenges, and we need God’s clear direction as we go forward. More on this topic to come. Thank you in advance!
