Children

At Troy Church we believe strongly that our children are our future. We also believe strongly in the concept of family, even though in our society the strength of the family unit has been, by and large, ignored with emphasis placed on individuality. Although we encourage our children to be independent thinkers and people of action and integrity, we believe it is imperative that children have a strong sense of family.

As a church body we come together from all walks of life and family situations. Some have benefited from strong marriages of a lifetime; some others have been hurt by broken marriages and some come from single parent families; however, TOGETHER we ARE A FAMILY and we treat our children commonly as a family, with a strong emphasis on inter-generational relationships.

The family was originally set up as the unit for a child’s educational and social development through modeling of proper living by the adults, and we at Troy, make every effort to engage and model for our children godly lives and whole relationships committed to God. Although we allow for a time of Bible study in their own group, children are encouraged and discipled (regardless of age, but recommended for age 6 and up) to participate alongside their parents and other adults in our worship assemblies and different service activities.

In addition, every year our members put together a Vacation Bible School program for our kids and the kids of our community.
